in Our Team

Have you ever felt helpless, hopeless, or worthless, or combination of the three? If so, I applaud you for clicking the “learn more” tab to take a step toward turning things around in your life. Relationships can be the most challenging situations we ever face, but also the most rewarding. If you feel depressed, sad, numb, anxious, have negative thoughts about yourself, or can’t quite put your finger on it, you probably wish things could be different. I’m here to tell you they can be!

I specialize in treating individuals with depression, anxiety, low self esteem, suicide concerns & suicide assessments and treatment, substance abuse and family codependency, couples experiencing relationship challenges, and divorce and co-parenting issues.  I see primarily adults ages 19 and up and enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families.

I joined TBL in 2015 and knew from day one that it was the right decision and have never looked back.  With the amazing privilege of helping others, I love the counseling profession and all it has to offer my clients.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor and hold a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Indiana University and Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University, Nashville.  I specialize in treating anxiety and depression using a cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and healthy lifestyle approach.

As a social worker and home based counselor prior to joining TBL, I gained a wealth of experience in helping others from all walks of life. Having been on thousands of home visits over the years, I was able to help children and families improve and reach goals and see their lives through their eyes and home environments. I also worked at inpatient and intensive outpatient substance use treatment facilities and developed a passion in working with newly sober clients and their loved ones and continue treating this population in an outpatient setting now.

I have heard it said that relationships can be the most rewarding yet challenging situations we will ever face. My philosophy is that counseling is a collaborative effort between client and counselor and that together, goals are reached. I strive to provide a warm accepting environment that brings hope and solutions to some of life’s most difficult challenges.

Counselor Supervision

Finding a licensure supervisor once you have finished your Master’s Degree can be a tricky process but it doesn’t have to be. I am an experienced licensure supervisor who has seen a number of ALC’s from the beginning of supervision to the attainment of their LPC. I guide individuals through the initial paperwork process, answering the numerous questions new graduates  have. I meet with my supervisees weekly at either my office in Madison or other local sites as needed and read professional literature with them to further awareness and knowledge. I often study with my supervisees for their National Board Exam and provide support through the application and testing process. If you’re looking for an experienced, direct and enthusiastic supervisor and mentor for the licensure process, look no further and call or email me at holly@thebalancedlifellc.com today!
