An Attitude of Gratitude
Dana Hampson
General
26 October 2014

In lieu of the upcoming holidays, I felt compelled to blog about what it means to be thankful and furthermore, how to develop an attitude of gratitude. By now, you have probably heard the countdowns begin: 5 days until Halloween, 30 days until Thanksgiving and 59 days until Christmas. When hearing those numbers, it is easy for us to feel these days approaching quickly and often times, we feel stressed and crunched for time. With the Thanksgiving countdown, we are faced with planning a meal or organizing a family get together, while Christmas involves decorating our house, shopping for gifts, and many other special traditions. Even though these countdowns may prove helpful to some, I have recently found them to be more anxiety provoking, than useful to my life.

Self-Care September
Sunday, 10 September 2023

September is National Self-Care Awareness Month. So this month, don’t feel guilty for having a little extra “me time”. The term “self-care” has become more and more popular throughout the years, but I still get the question, “What actually is self-care?” from a lot of clients. From my experience, it is definitely NOT eating a whole bag of Doritos in one sitting. Just in case anyone was wondering.

Relational Connection: Why is it so hard sometimes?
Wednesday, 28 June 2023

As social creatures we long for safe connections with others.  And yet often this experience eludes us and leads to feelings of isolation and loneliness.  What creates this disconnection? And how can we make a shift towards connection with safe others?  While this shift is very possible, I also recognize that it is very hard work. The hard work is well worth it when we find safe relational connections.
