You do not have to stay stuck in the place that brought you to therapy.
Maybe you are tired of overthinking everything. Maybe your emotions feel bigger than you know how to handle. Maybe something happened to you that you simply can’t “get over”. Life can deal some heavy blows and sometimes it’s nice to be able to talk it through with an unbiased person who will listen and understand. That is where therapy can help. Whether you are a teenager navigating the challenges of growing up or an adult trying to find your way forward, therapy can be a place to slow down, get to know yourself a little better, and begin creating meaningful, lasting change.
I work with teens and adults with a variety of diagnoses from ADHD, depression and anxiety, to PTSD, OCD, and bipolar. I also work with people who have everyday life challenges like parent/child estrangement, job frustrations, and an overall feeling of being lost and overwhelmed. I use a range of modalities to help my clients including, but not limited to solution focused therapy, CPT (a top down approach to processing trauma) and Brainspotting (a bottom up approach that works with the brain and the body).
Therapy should not be someone talking at you; it should be collaborative, practical, honest, and tailored to you. Together we will look at the thoughts, behaviors and experiences that are keeping you stuck and we will work together to come up with solutions to get “unstuck”. I want you to leave therapy with self-understanding, insight, hope, and resiliency.
As the Alabama Native Helen Keller said, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also, of the overcoming of it.” and “Alone, we can do so little. Together we can do so much!” I look forward to working together! Email or give me a call (256.258.7777 x 109) today!
