Learning Objectives:

During this training, attendees will:

1. Define some of the different types of couple therapy and why certain theories stick with different types of therapists.

2. Identify a few of the many books that meet couples where they are, make for useful “homework” assignments, and can guide the ship of the challenging task of working with couples.

3. Discuss the ethics of working with couples, an often complicated and multi-layered process.

4. Identify empirically-based and ethically sound interventions to be used in sessions.

5. Leave with new ideas and rejuvenated energy when working with this population that can be (let’s be honest) exhausting for many therapists.
